Bride To Be

As our Wedding dresses are custom made to order by us, here in Brighton, you can create your perfect dress and even meet the team who will design, make and fit it for you. Our aim is to give women the Wedding dress that they really want to wear on their big day. From a demure full length 1920's silk gown to a playful and glamourous 1950's Tiffany Silk dress, the choice is yours! You can email us at to dicuss your ideas......

You can choose from a selection of luxurious Silk Dupion fabrics for a sumptuous Wedding Dress. This silk has an organic texture with a subtle sheen to it and it keeps its shape really well. We offer various bridal shades for a traditional style but we can also source coloured silks and often have one or two choices in stock. Please contact us if you would like to know what we can currently offer you.

Alternatively if you would like something completely different you can choose from any of our patterned or plain fabrics found in our Fabric Cupboard. You are welcome to source your own fabric too, please contact us to discuss the best fabric options for your chosen style.

Lace can be added to your dress to give it a delicate twist. This can be used on the waistband for a simple detail, overlaid on the bodice and sleeves or all over to create real impact and vintage appeal!

If you have decided on a fabric that you know you would love for your Wedding dress, but the date is too far off in the future to commit to giving us your measurements, then we recommend that you consider paying a fabric deposit. This is a non- refundable cost of £40 which comes off the total value of the order at the end. It gives you peace of mind that the fabric is reserved for you until you are ready to place your order.

Our Wedding dresses are fully lined and designed in a way that a good supportive, normal bra is all you need to wear to obtain the best fit and overall look from your dress.

Time Frame

We suggest that brides allow a minimum of 2-3 months for the whole process of ordering a custom made wedding dress, but the more time the better. This makes the process a more relaxed one for you and allows a bit of time for any minor alterations that might be needed once your dress has been made. However if you are in a bit of a hurry please contact us as we can sometimes rush an order through!

Petticoats & Boleros

Our dresses look stunning when worn as they come, but if you want to release your inner Audrey Hepburn then we recommend wearing a tulle petticoat underneath your Dig For Victory dress!

We supply our petticoats in various colours and in two lengths, 25" and 23", to match our most popular skirt styles. Wear a longer petticoat and it will peek out of the hem of the skirt, this can look great to show off a coloured tulle. Alternatively a shorter one is visible when you spin on the dance floor or are feeling flirty!

Tulle petticoats are the best way to give the Circle, Flared, Pleated and A- Line skirts the 'full' effect and to create a more formal style perfect for Weddings and Proms!

A Bolero can add that finishing touch to a Wedding outfit. They are a super chic way to keep the chill off your shoulders and create a very elegant shiloutte. We can make the in a fabric to match your wedding dresses or you could have a different fabric to take your dress through to the evening. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss some options!

Not forgetting the men, we can also make very dapper Bow Ties and Pocket Squares to match your chosen colour scheme. Why not have some made for the Groom, Best Man or Page Boys in the same fabric as a set of Bridesmaids dresses, or your Wedding dress, to pull it all together?

Style And Fit

Every wedding is unique and we love to get creative here at Dig For Victory! You can mix and match elements of all of our current dress styles, choosing from our range of bodices, skirts, sleeves and lengths to create your own bespoke made Dig For Victory Wedding dress.

Our dresses are designed to be fitted in the bodice and cinched in at the waist (to show off our best bits!) Unlike modern fabrics, ours have no stretch in them, so it is important to get the right size. To work out what size will be best we recommend that you take a moment to check your measurements against our standard sizes, you may find that you will benefit from our made to measure service. Our size guide and handy guide to taking your own measurements can be found here. The made to measure service costs an additional £25 for the custom pattern, or £50 to include a fitting in store with us. We are very happy to offer advice on sizing to help obtain the best fit, so if you are unsure what is the best option for you then please get in touch and send us your measurements!  If you would like to visit us in person to try on some styles, take a look in our fabric room and to have a fitting then please give us a call or send us an email to arrange this.

We don't offer to replicate dresses that have been designed by other designers, or to create a new design from scratch for each customer, This is because a lot of time and care has been put into the development and construction of our own designs.
